Billy Gene Linker
August 12, 1933 - December 25, 2007
North Little Rock , AR

Billy Gene Linker, 74, of North Little Rock, departed Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in Little Rock, AR. He was born in Russellville, AR to the late Doc and Mackie-Mae Linker whom were awaiting his arrival in heaven along with his four brothers and four sisters.

He was an active member of the Christian Assembly of God Church in Sherwood. Billy served his country in the US Army Specialist third class E-4, COH 153rd Infantry from 1953 to 1959 and was a Korean War/Conflict Veteran.

He worked as a Truck Driver for over 50 years and retired from ABF in 1998. Then started his own Trucking Company, B&R Linker Trucking from 2002 to 2006. A truckers life is long and lonely while your out on the road but daddy always had the Lord at his right side and whenever he felt there was no more road to pull he would place his hands at the wheel and pray.

Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary "Tina" Linker; six children, Lisa Lopez, Robert Linker, Leslie Grimes, Denise Guajardo, Kelly Redus, and Sonya Pettit. He had a very special place in his heart for each one of his eight grandchildren, Denisha and Dylan Guajardo, Kristin Borden, Madison Pettit, Amber and Austin Grimes, Nokona and Keely Redus.

He loved his family very much and would go out of the way to help when some of us needed him. He loved his God in Heaven and was a very good Christian man.

Bill loved to work in the yard and found great enjoyment teaching his grandsons how to operate his riding lawn mower. His great love of animals he has passed down to each member of his family. He will forever be dearly missed by his family and friends and to quote one of his favorite cowboys, John Wayne "When the road looks rough ahead, remember the man upstairs and the word Hope, Hang onto both and tough it out."

Funeral service will be 12 noon, Friday, December 28, 2007, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400) with Reverend Hugh Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
